T. Alan Claypool

Mr. T. Alan Claypool is the Owner/President/Founder of TAC4 Solutions. TAC4 Solutions provides process redesign, infrastructure, and software implementation solutions to companies whose staff lives in frequent crisis mode, and helps build cohesive teams among the client staff.  Mr. Claypool builds trusting relationships through a passion for honest and edifying communication with clients and colleagues.  Mr. Claypool matches his technical skill of project management, data flow, software architecture, and process redesign with an awareness of complexities of the human side of change.  He developed the Nine Ground Rules for Cohesive Team Behavior that he uses on all project management and process redesign projects to help clients work in the same direction toward common goals.

As president and consultant of TAC4 Solutions, Mr. Claypool has helped a mid-size insurance company reduce over 10 days effort every month regarding accounting reconciliation and journal entry determination; cut in half the amount of time required to produce quarterly financial statements; implemented much better audit trail and controls; cut over 10 days effort every year to produce the annual financial statements, greatly easing the chaos surrounding this process.  He has worked with a school system, training them on new cohesive team behaviors.  Among school staff, problems are being resolved more effectively; less time is spent on interpersonal problems so that more time can be spent on student issues; and educators have more buy-in with administrative decisions.  Additionally, he has worked with a city government, lifting a troubled project out of chaos by establishing a project management plan, bridging communication gaps between business departments and IT, and capturing significant financial savings and improved customer service.

Prior to starting this venture, Mr. Claypool was a Principal Consultant for 13 years at Utilities International Inc., a Chicago consulting company specializing in financial software for utility companies. Mr. Claypool managed multiple large, complex implementations of budgeting and allocations software and served as the subject matter expert. As a result of these projects, clients were able to budget and report their data with new code block fields; answer regulatory requests with complete transparency of data; and more quickly turn around multiple organization-wide forecasts for senior management decisions.  In this role, Mr. Claypool developed keen skills in interviewing clients, listening for the true causes of their business issues, and solving these problems with creative, comprehensive tools specifically targeted at unifying solutions to meet disparate needs. Also at Utilities International Inc., he served as Sales Lead for the budgeting system; as a Technical Lead for allocations software; and early on as a Developer. Prior to 1997, Mr. Claypool was a consultant for the EDS Utilities Division in Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Claypool is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is currently the Director of Education for the Kentuckiana chapter of PMI.  He holds a Masters degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois (1994) and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Furman University (1989).
